Every year Realtor.com ranks the hottest zips in the U.S., and for at least the last four years, a Central Ohio zip code has made the list.
As a metro, Central Ohio has improved considerably and continues to get better, making it a desirable place to live.
According to Realtor.com, each year they analyzed “32,000 ZIP codes based on the time it takes properties to sell and how frequently homes are viewed in each ZIP Code.”
This year, homes in the hottest markets were sold in an average of 20 days. That’s 46 days quicker than the rest of the U.S.
What makes a zip code hot according to Realtor.com? The zip codes that make the hot list this year have:
- Affordable homes relative to their surrounding area
- Higher rates of employment
- Generally higher earners
- Millennials doing well
- Millennials dominating purchases
- Buyers with good credit
Also, homes in hot markets tend to be viewed on Realtor.com 4 times more than homes in the rest of the U.S. and 2.3 times more than their metro areas.
