Each month Realtor.com ranks the hottest housing markets in the U.S. In March 2019, Columbus, Ohio ranked number one!
In February 2019, Columbus was number nine, so that’s a big jump!
Overall, the list of Hottest Markets’ number of Days On Market has fallen by 3 days since March 2018.
Despite the slight overall slowing across the country, listings in the Hottest Markets are getting more views and are selling 12-36 days more quickly than the U.S. market overall.
“this month three Ohio markets made it to the list. Ohio markets are among some of the most affordable across the country, and this relative affordability is attracting strong demand from potential buyers amidst market slowdowns in larger, more expensive metros.” -Realtor.com

Most Improved Markets in Ohio
As mentioned above, Columbus moved from 9th to 1st in March. However, the most improved markets in Ohio were Cleveland (up 44 spots) and Cincinnati (up 38 spots).
Affordability drove this performance. These Ohio markets have a median listing price that is lower than the national average of $300,000.
Buyer interest is rising in the Most Improved markets. And, inventory is moving 3 days faster than the same time last year in the Most Improved markets combined.
